Getting there from Montreal took only a few hours. This included a ferry trip that immediately gave me the feeling of being on vacation.
Once arrived on the island we headed to Siasconset, where, after long hours of research, I had the chance to find a charming cottage to rent. Siasconset, commonly known as Sconset, is located at the eastern end of the island. Originally a fishing village, this picturesque community combines modest, rose-covered cottages with elegant new homes. Ours was perfectly located, just a few minutes walk to both the beach and the village center in front of the sea. It was so easy to let the kids go to the beach in search of the seal they could see every day.
Although Sconset beach is awesome because not too many people come here for the beach, we intended to discover other places as well. And because there are so many beaches on this little island, it was difficult to pick just one for a perfect summer day. So we did several… and we had plenty of relaxing, and plenty of fun.
